Vegan "Pork" Burgers (WFPB, GF)

Summer is almost here! I know a lot of you may still be under snow and battling the cold for a few more weeks or months, but I can already see the light ahead. And when summer gets here that means it is time to heat up the grill and keep it rolling throughout the season. And having a great whole food plant based option to be able to throw onto the grill was a big reason why I was able to get my dad to jump on board with this way of eating. And personally as someone who grew up loving grilled foods, I have made it my job to keep coming up with great healthy vegan options for the "barbie"! My vegan "porkless" burgers were such a hit last summer that I wanted to revamp them a little bit, simplifying the recipe and getting a more thorough video tutorial posted. If you have enjoyed my past burger recipes, I know you will love these ones! And if you do not have a grill, don't worry these can always be baked in the oven on parchment at 425 F for 25-30 minutes.

If you go ahead and try this recipe, let me know what you think and share a picture on my Facebook page of how it turned out!

Here's what you need! (Serves 6+)

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp clove

  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

  1. Add all of the ingredients into your stand mixer or a large bowl

  2. Mix on a low setting or by hand for 3-5 minutes

  3. Form into patties

  4. Preheat the grill (400 F+)

  5. Place the patties onto the grill

  6. Grill on each side for 3-5 minutes (or until the patties release from the grill)
