One of the hardest steps for a lot of people going plant based is giving up the dairy. We used to always go to the store and get a carton of almond milk, which is fine and WAY better than picking up a gallon of dairy milk. But one thing that we didn't like was all of the ingredients that were added into the store bought plant based milks (but still way better than the hormones and cancer causing compounds found in dairy). So we started making our own cashew milk. And over time I have got it down to the most basic form so that we can make whenever and wherever we want.
Here's what you will need!
32 ounces of water
3 tbs of cashews (soaked in water overnight)
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Add the soaked cashews into the blender with half of the of water (16 oz)
Blend on high speed for 60 seconds
Add remaining water (16 oz)
Blend for 60 seconds
Transfer to a refrigerator safe container
