Previously I used to pick up pre made date paste from the grocery store to use in various recipes including my low fat peanut butter. But I realized that it was always wrapped in a single use plastic and it never tasted very fresh. So I decided to make my own date paste with some dates that I had sitting in the fridge. It worked out great, and now I can have a plastic free and fresh date paste anytime.
Here's what you will need!
1 1/2 cups of whole pitted dates
Place all of the ingredients into the food processor
Process on medium-high speed for 30-60 seconds (stopping and scraping the sides if needed)
